Medellin Picnic Lunch OUTing at the Castle Museum
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in private transportation and take you to the Museo El Castillo (Castle Museum). Inspired by the castles in France’s Loire Valley, it was built in 1930 by the city’s first architecture firm as a residence and remains a jewel of Medellin’s architecture. In 1971, the building became a museum.
Enjoy a picnic lunch with your concierge/guide and an invited guest from the local LGBTQ community. You’ll be sitting among the castle’s exquisite gardens with gorgeous views of the Aburrá Valley below. The museum itself happily caters your picnic, providing the food, basket, blanket, flatware, plates glasses and offer 5 different meal options to select from, accompanied by wine or juices.
If you wish, it is possible to tour the inside of the museum. El Castillo is a nonprofit, promoting arts & culture. It curates a collection of works by Colombian and European masters, as well as some exhibits of furniture and decorative arts. Most of the rooms have been maintained as they were when the Castillo was a residence, with their original furniture.
