This morning, you’ll meet your guide and head off for a private and truly special experience in the historic San Cayetano, Colombia’s first commercial producer of coffee and whose name became a point of reference in the history of Colombian coffee. Over 120 years ago, the first coffee cultivations in Colombia were planted here on this beautiful finca. Today, it produces some of the best traditional coffee in the country. Your personal tour will highlight the best of Colombia’s coffee production on an expansive property whose various elevations yield both high-land and low-land coffees. We recommend this as a one- or two-day excursion.
Take in breathtaking views of the central ridge of the Andes and the Cauca River 3,000 feet below. At San Cayetano you’ll have a chance to meet the chief roaster of this historic finca and smell, touch, and taste both experimental and proprietary blends of San Cayetano’s coffee. See every step of the coffee process from seed to cup and pick and taste ripe beans straight from the tree.
Afterwards, head back to the owner’s private mansion, where you’ll have the grounds to yourself. Take a dip in the infinity pool or jacuzzi or refresh yourself under the property’s waterfall. Later, you’ll enjoy appetizers, and wine or beer as you watch the sun set on the valley below. Move over to the roaring fireplace, fed by coffee wood, and relax as you enjoy a dinner prepared especially for you.
San Cayetano is Rainforest Alliance-certified for its conscientious treatment of the earth & UTZ Fair Trade-certified for fair treatment of its employees.
