La Candelaria is the most historic and beautiful neighborhood of Bogotá and home to some of its best museums and attractions. Your guide will meet you at your hotel and take you for an exploration of this intriguing neighborhood of opposites: centuries-old architecture and exteriors adorned with colorfully provocative street art. This neighborhood is also home to several universities, so the student population here adds a fun, alternative vibe.
Yours is fully customizable as far as length and sites. You can even change the order of sites or add more while the tour is in progress. Make sure you stop by Plaza de Bolivar, the historic colonial square in which the city’s annual Pride Parade concludes. Here is also where you’ll find the Palace of Justice, the Congress, the Mayor’s Office, among other historic buildings.
Your guide will take you to a great spot to enjoy a typical lunch here, but you’ll be wanting to save time for the Museo del Oro (Gold Museum) which features more than 55,000 gold artifacts, depicting life and culture of pre-Hispanic peoples. Another can’t miss is The Botero Museum, celebrating the distinctive works of one of Colombia’s most accomplished artists. There are also a few works by Dali and Picasso here. The choice is yours to visit galleries, other museums, embellished churches. Ask us for help in personalizing your tour.
